Seconded mr arienrhode, Anet likes noob-friendly melees for sure. My favourite prof happens to be warrior >cringe<
Way of the assassin+crit defenses+crippling sweep is LOL-WTF-OWNAGE, can't even properly lineback them.
Instead of toning down ridiculous enchant strips anet made them VERY necessary.

PvP / GvG / VoD - 7.August Update!
Hey all! - Im very excited around this update and i see the many guilds such as rawr, needs to change theire playstyle compleetly. This update as i have seen it is that they encourages, more killing / - agressive gamestyle. Splits and Ganks is just pathetic or? The Update
There is no longer any Victory or Death effect.
There is no longer any Victory is Ours effect.
The Guild Battle NPCs no longer walk to the flag stand.
The Guild Lord's Health has been reduced to 1680.
Removed all skills on the Bodyguard expect Oath of Healing.
Removed Precision Shot from the Archers.
Whenever a team gets a morale boost that teams Guild Lord gets an additional +300 maximum Health for the rest of the game
The final 28 min tie breaker is changed to: "team who did the most damage to the Enemy Guild Lord wins."
Amulet of Protection: reduced the amount of damage the Guild Lord can take to 25 per second at the beginning of a match, scaling up to 300 damage per second later in the match.
Victory or Death has turned Guild Battles into a race to see who can destroy enemy NPCs at the flag stand during VoD the fastest. This has, in turn, caused teams to build only for this situation, slowing the rest of the game to a near standstill. In an effort to alleviate this, we've redesigned Victory or Death completely. We've removed the need to kill NPCs to secure a flag stand advantage at VoD—now, the Guild Lord walks alone, making him extremely vulnerable if unattended. Morale boosts give the Guild Lord +300 maximum Health, giving him a definite advantage during VoD, but the tie-breaker comes down to who has inflicted the most damage to the Guild Lord, encouraging split teams to attack him before VoD. The removal of the Bodyguard's offensive abilities and the lack of Precision Shot on the archers help make the Guild Lord more vulnerable pre-VoD, and allow one or two enemies to pressure the Guild Lord, securing them an advantage if the game stalemates into a 28-minute tiebreaker.
The aim of this rework is to promote more offensive play and cause both the flag and base to matter before VoD. Teams can't wait for the damage bonus effects of VoD to supplement a lack of offensive punch now, which should lower the amount of defensive skills a team can bring, while killing grouped-up NPCs no longer is relevant to victory. These changes have had internal testing, but we believe only a "live-fire" setting can truly reveal if these changes improve VoD without introducing bigger problems.

So this again encourages Splitting/Ganks on lord , but not killing the Archers etc around, also splitting will make it harder to run the flag. Which gives the opposite 300hp each Morale. So then again they encourages splitting as hell / which makes you win. You either need to Party Wipe the opposite team or drive them so long back to the chamber that you can hit the Guild Lord.
Altough im kinda wondering what if you send one Shadow Form newb to run into the Guild Lord hit him 1, time for 3dmg then run back and defend the base at all cost giving the Guild Lord Protective Bond thingy - Which makes him invulnerable. So im wondering is the 3dmg enuff to win? Then they will encourage SpellBreaker, ShadowForm Shadow of Haste or what its called hit the guild and run :P Hit and Run tactic. Even thou if the Guild Lord regains Health i suppose it still means you win even thou they get all the Morale Boosts, since you still did more damage. So now im always wondering - The 300+ Hp isnt that if they start attacking your Guild Lord? So even thou they dont kill him they will do enuff damage say: You got all the morales and your guild lord have 300x12 = 3600hp Extra and they just hit him once then you dont attack their guild lord you lose? or is it the current health etc.
Sorry for all the Writing Mistakes! Im gladly if anyone can come whit some Tips, Builds etc to win in the current VoD/GvG!

Lol yeah let's flame the few guru users that still give a crap to begin with. I just don't like the way everything is turned upside down while there are some pretty obvious problems in the meta already. The only thing that can possibly lead to is more problems.

for people talking about camping builds. 28 minutes = 27 boosts (first minute for caping flag) = 8100 HP bonus health for enemy lord.

Only one I disagree with. It says "you have", which means if you have even -54 degen, you'll have +10 Health regen. It's pro.
Also Glimmering Mark is armor ignoring and the equivalent to a stackable and fully working -12.5 degen. I like.
lol at incendiary arrows though. just...lol.

Izzy came up with this GvG change all by himself and his team of balancers and basically from what I hear a ton of people went crazy on him because a lot of good changes were already suggested and he chose this. Granted, I think this will promote a different style of play, it's also kind of harder to test because a lot of the other suggestions were changes to VoD to make it less fortressway while keeping the benefits of VoD. This is completely new so it's hard to say where it's going to lead, though offense and split are going to be big.
EDIT:
Mind you, after they fix all the new stuff and old stuff LoL.

8100 HP sounds good, but 27 boosts, I'd like to see that one! It's probably gonna more like 2 boosts resulting in 2,280HP and he'll be dead in 10-15 seconds from when the bodyguard stops healing him.

Meh, I still think there are far better blood elites than the new vamp spirit. What does it offer besides increased survivability in randumb arena? Since air is usually used to spike I don't see it how the new glimmering mark can be terribly useful. On the other hand the new thunderclap sets up for a devastating spike.
At the very minimum I would hope anet is smart enough to split way of the assassin and incendiary arrows into PvP / PvE skills. Visions of Regret is shaping up to be very stupid too, monking in RA tonight against it was awful because it's spammed in conjunction with wastrals, then diversion and more wastrals while you're being shredded by way of the assassin users...absolutely unplayable.

1) Outside NPCs need to be worth something.
2) BG needs to be meaner (not as mean as he was previously)
3) BG needs to walk with lord @ 20.
These three changes are really apparent to me. other than that, I say let this meta flourish a bit and see where it goes.
